The Operating Suite

Going to the operating room is not a normal experience for most of us. Dr. Salzberg and his staff recognize the natural anxiety with which most patients approach this step in the process of achieving their goals. We believe you will be better prepared for your surgery and hospital experience if you know what to expect.

  • Your surgery will be performed in the operating suite. Specialists using modern equipment and techniques will attend to you. The team assisting Dr. Salzberg includes a board-certified anesthesiologist, a trained surgical assistant and experienced surgical nurses.
  • Once you enter the operating room, the staff will do everything they can to make you feel safe and secure. You will feel comfortable on the operating table and the anesthesiologist will start an intravenous (IV) drip in your arm.
  • Through the IV, the anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia (the least amount needed to keep you asleep and comfortable during surgery), antibiotics, and anti-nausea medications. Monitoring devices will ensure your safety at all times.
